The moment has arrived for Mukesh Kumar. He has bagged his maiden Test wicket as he forced a nick of Kirk McKenzie on Saturday before rain stopped play. While his wait was over, it was Virat Kohli who was ecstatic. Kohli was the first one to run towards Mukesh to celebrate. India posted 438 in the first innings of IND vs WI 2nd Test.
After a long wait and some incredible domestic performances, Mukesh Kumar finally made his Test debut in place of Shardul Thakur in the IND vs WI 2nd Test.
The Bengal pacer got the 308th Test cap. Mukesh has been knocking on the door with consistent domestic performances. However, with Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur integral part of the side, he had to wait for his chances.

After working with Ajit Agarkar, Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly at Delhi Capitals, he finally got the nod. But it also came at the expense of Mohammad Shami being rested and Shardul Thakur getting injured.
As for Virat Kohli, the milestone man, who is playing his 500th match, slammed 76th international century as India posted 438 in the first innings. It was also Kohli’s 29th Test century.
