After an easy 5-wicket win in the first ODI, Rohit Sharma & Co took the day off on Friday. With just 48-hour turnout time, India Cricket Team enjoyed Caribbean beaches and the team had lunch together. Hardik Pandya and others also had a beach volleyball session. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav among others had a family day out, hopping beaches and visits to restaurants. Team India will take on West Indies on Saturday in the 2nd ODI at the same venue in Barbados. India lead IND vs WI series 1-0.
With a busy schedule and a short turnout time, Team India will utilise the breaks for rest. After the 2nd ODI, Team India will again travel to Trinidad for the 3rd ODI. While Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and other ODI specialists will leave Trinidad ahead of the T20 series, Hardik Pandya-led team will stay back.
With Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023 around the corner, BCCI wants to avoid injuries and fatigue to the ODI specialists for the moment.

What to expect from IND vs WI 2nd ODI?
- With West Indies struggling in the 50-over format, it is expected to be another cakewalk for India.
- Rohit Sharma wants to use the match as an opportunity to test some of the players who are hopeful of WC.
- Sanju Samson, Axar Patel and Jaydev Unadkat could get a chance.
- Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur might be rested to manage workload and give chances to others.
- In the 1st ODI, Rohit Sharma batted at No 7 promoting Ishan Kishan. Virat Kohli did not come out to bat as India chased down 115-run target in 22.5 overs.
- That is why, Yuzvendra Chahal could also get a go to keep them in good stead ahead of Asia Cup 2023.
