There is good news and bad news for India Cricket Team. While Shreyas Iyer is on the road to recovery, KL Rahul has hit a roadblock. As things stand, Shreyas could be available for Asia Cup 2023. However, KL Rahul is unlikely to be fit for Asia Cup. A call to him will be made at a later date. But even though Iyer has begun batting, IND vs IRE T20 series looks difficult for him. As reported earlier, Jasprit Bumrah is set to return for Ireland series.
As for KL Rahul, he is yet to begin batting practice and is certain to miss IND vs IRE series. Whether he can recover in time for Asia Cup is now a question mark.
Iyer underwent surgery for his back injury while Rahul had to go under the knife for a thigh injury he sustained during IPL 2023.
