Pakistan were anticipated to prevail in the third game, but New Zealand’s valiant effort to put on a show with the ball prevented them from doing so. Iftikhar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf dragged Pakistan back from collapse and got them near to the mark but ultimately fell short of four runs as they struggled through the run chase.
In the last game, New Zealand’s senior players came through to help them win the series. Tom Latham’s magnificent fifty, Daryl Mitchell’s knock of 33, and a brief cameo from Neesham and Chapman helped them to a decent total. The bowling was what truly made the difference; James Neesham’s three-for seriously hurt Pakistan’s chances.
