The Netherlands cricket team will be the first team to arrive in India for World Cup 2023. The Scot Edwards-led side will arrive in Bengaluru for a 12-day camp. They will have their camp in Alur from September 19 to October 1. The team sealed their berth in WC after securing a top-2 finish in ICC World Cup qualifiers.
The Orange brigade has already conveyed to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) that they want to extend the camp by a couple of weeks. The plans are to begin the camp by September 1st week as per a Cricbuzz report. However, the KSCA is yet to confirm the date.
The Netherlands will begin their World Cup 2023 campaign against Pakistan on October 6 in Hyderabad. However, the schedule is likely to change with the ICC and BCCI preparing a revised World Cup schedule.
The Netherlands will also play against India in Bengaluru on November 11. However, as the Dutch team will be in India for the first time in 7 years, they will need to get adjusted to the slower surfaces. That is why the camp in Alur.
After stunning South Africa in the T20 World Cup, the Dutch brigade will now be aiming to repeat their feat in ODI World Cup. This will be their fifth time in ODI World Cup having been part of 1996, 2003, 2007 and 2011.
