The IPL 2023 is gradually nearing its business end, and this is the period when the teams’ efforts to advance to the IPL playoffs depend heavily on wins and defeats. Rain forced the cancellation of CSK’s previous afternoon match against Lucknow Super Giants. The Yellow Army will be aiming for a different outcome in their match at home this afternoon after dramatic last-ball loss to Punjab Kings on April 30.

CSK have largely outperformed every other franchise in the Indian Premier League’s history, with the exception of MI. CSK will take the field tomorrow for the sixth time in IPL 2023 at their home stadium in an effort to improve their record against this specific opponent, since MI is the only team to have won an IPL crown more frequently than the CSK.

In the meanwhile, MI have gradually gained pace after getting off to a poor start, chasing for high scores. They will enter the game having just defeated Punjab Kings by six wickets. Rohit, who himself has struggled for runs, would be concerned if the bowlers are unable to stop the opposition’s batters. The match on Saturday promises to be an engaging struggle as CSK (11 points) and MI (10) compete closely for points and play-off berths.
