IPL 2023: The first game of the Indian Premier League 2023 between the defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings lived up to the hype. Prior to the game, the opening ceremony, which featured performances by famous singer Arijit Singh and actors Tamannaah Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna, also won over the audience’s hearts. The two captains—MS Dhoni of CSK and Hardik Pandya of GT—joined the stage towards the conclusion of the opening ceremony to pose for pictures with the artists and BCCI officials as well as the winners’ trophy, and it was at that point that Arijit touched Dhoni’s feet. The internet was awash with talk of this heartwarming exchange between the two. Check out the pic below. Follow IPL 2023 LIVE updates with InsideSport.IN

The performances by Arijit, Tamannaah, and Rashmika ignited the audience. Arijit was invited to perform first by the ceremony’s host, Mandira Bedi. He sang all of his well-known songs and the newest ones for about 25 minutes, including “Jhoomey Jo Pathaan,” “Kabira,” and “Kesariya,” before capping off his outstanding performance with “Jeetega Jeetega India Jeetega” and leaving the audience in awe.

Rashmika performed the Oscar-winning RRR song “Naatu Naatu” while Tamannaah entertained the crowd by grooving to tracks like “Oo Antavaa” and others. Not to mention that she pleasantly shocked everyone by singing “Srivalli” from her own movie, “Pushpa: The Rise.”

Coming to the match, Shubman Gill top-scored for the defending champions on Friday with 63 runs, as Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans routed MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings by five wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s elegant 92 for CSK went in vain. In a successful chase for Gujarat Titans against the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings, Wriddhiman Saha, Vijay Shankar, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, and Rashid Khan all contributed significant runs.
