IPL 2023 LIVE Streaming: JioCinema is basking in on its success during the IPL and now is moving towards a paid subscription model as per reports. Having streamed the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the IPL 2023 for free, the platform is set to introduce a Disney+Hotstar-like paywall. The JioCinema Subscription plans are however likely to be designed in a way to retain their audience. Plans will start from Rs 2 while Jio Studios plans a ₹3,000 crore. JioCinema Proposed Plans:
Daily (2 Devices): ₹29 for 1 Day
Gold (2 Devices): ₹299 for 3 months
Platinum (4 Devices): ₹599 for 1 year
Before the IPL 2023 Final on May 28, JioCinema will roll out new plans and prices for all content on the platform including sporting events, Viacom18’s media and content business President, Jyoti Deshpande, confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg. But the new pricing strategy won’t impact IPL 2023, confirmed JioCinema.

However, JioCinema is only considering a nominal subscription fee as compared to rival OTT platforms. While Disney + Hotstar has plans starting from Rs 299 per month, JioCinema are offering three expected plans — ₹99 per month, ₹499 annually and a daily plan of ₹2.
“Pricing certainly cannot be premium in this case, but it’s a good use of economies of scale. They’ve grabbed eyeballs thanks to the IPL and are looking to convert viewers into paid subscribers without spending much on publicity,” Yusuf Shaikh business head, of feature films at production and distribution company Percept Pictures told Live Mint.

JioCinema has inked a new deal to introduce over 100 films and TV series for the platform. The new films and series will include thrillers and biopics in multiple regional languages. Jio Studios, a unit of Reliance Industries Ltd, may invest as much as ₹3,000 crore to boost Jio Cinema’s subscription and advertising revenues.
Shahid Kapoor-starrer Bloody Daddy will be directly released on the platform in June. It also has other films and web originals ready for release, including those starring Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal and Vijay Sethupathi.
