RCB Playing XI vs RR: RCB vs RR LIVE – Royal Challengers Bangalore are going unchanged against Rajasthan Royals after returning to winning ways. However, it’s captain Faf du Plessis who is set to continue as the Impact Sub with a rib injury. To fans’ delight, Virat Kohli is leading RCB once again after a win against Punjab Kings. But Josh Hazlewood continues to be absent against RR. The Aussie quick is nursing an Achilles injury. Follow IPL 2023 LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Batting XI: Virat Kohli(c), Faf du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik(w), Suyash Prabhudessai, David Willey, Wanindu Hasaranga, Mohammed Siraj, Vijaykumar Vyshak

RCB Subs: Harshal Patel, Finn Allen, Akash Deep, Karn Sharma, Anuj Rawat.

“They informed me last time saying I might have to captain a couple of games, nothing I’m not used to. So I’m ready to continue from whatever Faf has been doing. The team has responded well, we are playing with a lot of energy and that showed in the last game. One change for us, Wayne Parnell is out and he will be replaced by David Willey. Faf continues to play as an impact sub,” Virat Kohli said at the toss.

Australia’s chief selector, George Bailey has hinted at Hazlewood’s return to IPL. But when would he return is the question. Hazlewood has begun bowling in the nets for RCB. But whether he will return against Rajasthan is a decision for the team management. So far, Wayne Parnell has done a great job after coming in as a replacement for injured Reece Topley.

The reason why RCB won’t be taking any chances with Hazlewood is WTC Final. Cricket Australia has made it abundantly clear that they won’t be rushing players’ return with WTC Final and Ashes 2023 inbound.

“Josh Hazlewood is still building back to his full capacity through the IPL, so hopefully he gets a few games over there in the back half of that tournament and starts to ramp up his return,” Bailey said while announcing Australia squad for WTC Final.

RCB Playing XI vs RR: What to expect in RCB vs RR?

  • With RCB returning to Chinnaswamy Stadium, bowlers’ efforts will be reduced with upwards of 200 total expected.
  • That is why, RCB need their best bowlers to step up against the table-toppers.
  • Although Parnell has done well, picking up 6 wickets in four games, he has leaked a lot of runs too.
  • Josh Hazlewood could make the difference even on a surface that has been a death zone for bowlers.
  • Faf du Plessis is another question RCB need to solve. RCB skipper is nursing a rib injury but smashed 84 against PBKS coming in as an Impact Sub.
  • RCB may take it easy with him and continue with him as an Impact Sub with Virat Kohli returning as a skipper at his beloved Chinnaswamy stadium.
  • But as RCB have struggled with their Indian domestic roster, there is no immediate solution.
  • Kohli and Du Plessis have done the bulk of scoring with Glenn Maxwell chipping in brilliantly.
  • But with not much match practice, the likes of Mahipal Lomror, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik or Suyash Prabhudessai haven’t fared well so far.
  • Harshal Patel also continues to get RCB’s trust but he has leaked runs at 10.10 economy rate.
  • However, the good news for the team is Vyshak Vijaykumar. The local lad has grabbed his opportunity with both hands and will continue to be an Impact Sub.
