DC Playing XI vs RR: DC vs RR LIVE – After two consecutive losses, Delhi Capitals need a turnaround quickly. As they travel to Guwahati, which aided batting heavily in the first game, DC need quick reinforcements in batting against Rajasthan Royals. While DC’s top guns have failed to fire, it’s Sarfaraz Khan whose poor strike rate has raised questions. Both Manish Pandey and Lalit Yadav join the Playing XI as Prithvi Shaw & Sarfaraz drop out. Delhi Capitals (Playing XI): David Warner(c), Manish Pandey, Rilee Rossouw, Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Abishek Porel(w), Anrich Nortje, Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar

Sarfaraz Khan had a poor outing in the first game both with the bat and the gloves. He fumbled quite often and was stunned by the express pace of Mark Wood. In the second, while he handed over keeping duties to Abhishek Porel, he batted at a woeful strike rate of 88.24 in his 34-ball stay.

While Sourav Ganguly and Ajit Agarkar have defended Sarfaraz and DC’s top order, they need to change things quickly. Manish Pandey is one of the most experienced players and can be the man to anchor things in the middle order if the top order fails again. Furthermore, the middle order has also been shaky.

“Prithivi and Sarfaraz made runs in the past and in general. I don’t think we batted well. So why point out one or two guys? None of our top order did well. So there’s no point picking individuals. Collectively, we’ve not been good enough on both nights. You need we need to improve because you’re playing against some good teams,” Ajit Agarkar said after loss to GT.

What to expect from Delhi Capitals vs RR?

  • DC have lost both their games and have a negative NRR of -1.703.
  • With games coming thick and fast, DC need to bounce back quickly.
  • Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan have both struggled against express pace.
  • With Trent Boult set to be another big influencer in the game, DC need a change in plans.
  • After two disappointing outings, Sarfaraz Khan is set to be dropped for someone like Manish Pandey or Lalit Yadav.
  • With Abhishek Porel keeping wickets, DC do not need to rely on Sarfaraz. Instead, they can get a batter in.

Senior pros like David Warner and Mitchell Marsh will also be under immense scrutiny after two poor outings. In bowling, DC have Lungi Ngidi available. However, he has no place due to exhausting overseas quota. DC can also take a look at someone like Kamlesh Nagarkoti or Ishant Sharma in Guwahati in place of Khaleel Ahmed as an Impact Player.

DC Full Squad: Prithvi Shaw, David Warner (c), Mitchell Marsh, Sarfaraz Khan (WK), Rilee Rossouw, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Aman Hakim Khan, Manish Pandey, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, Praveen Dubey, Lalit Yadav, Abishek Porel (WK), Philip Salt, Ishant Sharma, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ripal Patel, Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal
