DC vs KKR LIVE: 5 Concerns DC Needs to Address

1. Lack of consistency in batting

The Delhi Capitals have one of the strongest batting line-ups in the IPL, with the likes of David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, and Mitchell Marsh. However, their batting has been inconsistent this season, with too many top-order collapses. They need to find a way to score runs consistently, especially in the powerplay overs, to put pressure on the opposition.

2. Weak middle order

The middle order of the Delhi Capitals has been a major concern this season. With the absence of Rishabh Pant, due to an injury, they have struggled to find a suitable replacement. The likes of Manish Pander, Roman Powell and Yash Dhull have not been able to deliver with the bat, leaving too much pressure on the top order. The Delhi Capitals need to strengthen their middle order to provide stability to their batting.

3. Inability to finish games

The Delhi Capitals have lost games from winning positions this season, which has been a major concern. They need to find a way to finish games and not let the opposition back into the game. This requires better decision-making, especially in the death overs, and more composure under pressure.

4. Poor form of overseas players

The overseas players of the Delhi Capitals have not been able to deliver this season. David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Mustafizur Rahman and Anrich Nortje have not been able to make an impact with the bat or ball. This has put too much pressure on the Indian players, who have had to shoulder most of the responsibility. The Delhi Capitals need their overseas players to step up and contribute to the team’s success.

5. Inconsistent bowling

The Delhi Capitals have one of the best bowling attacks in the IPL, but their bowling has been inconsistent this season. They have struggled to pick wickets in the powerplay overs, and have leaked too many runs in the death overs. The Delhi Capitals need to find a way to bowl better as a unit, and not rely on individual brilliance to win games.

Delhi Capitals have a lot of work to do if they want to stay in contention for a playoff spot in the IPL 2023. They need to address these five concerns and find a way to play as a cohesive unit. If they can do that, they have the talent to make a late surge and qualify for the playoffs.

Delhi Capitals IPL 2023 Squad: Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Sarfaraz Khan, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Mustafizur Rahman, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Chetan Sakariya, Lalit Yadav, Ripal Patel, Yash Dhull, Rovman Powell, Pravin Dubey, Lungi Ngidi, Vicky Ostwal, Aman Khan, Phil Salt, Ishant Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Manish Pandey, Rilee Rossouw, Abhishek Porel.
