“2 great teams MI and CSK, 204 matches,14 seasons, 11 playoffs, 8 finals, 5 trophies. Hopefully, 6th tonight. It’s been quite a journey. I have decided that tonight’s final is going to be my last game in the IPL. I truly have enjoyed playing this great tournament. Thank u all. No u turn,” Rayudu said in a heartfelt tweet, announcing his retirement.
This is not the first time Amati Rayudu has pulled off a retirement prank. Midway through IPL 2022, Rayudu tweeted that he would call it quits, only to delete the tweet minutes later.
CSK management spoke to him and alleviated his concerns. However, the 38-year-old has been struggling with his form. Even though he has shown glimpses of his skills, he has only managed only 139 runs in 11 innings with the highest score of 27.

Ambati Rayudu IPL Career Highlights
Rayudu made his IPL debut back in IPL 2010 with Mumbai Indians. He was an instant hit, scoring 55 off 33 against Rajasthan Royals. However, his best came in IPL 2018 for Chennai Super Kings. He set the stage alight with 602 runs including 3 half-centuries and a century against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
