Sri Lanka are through to World Cup 2023. The former champions were forced to play in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifiers after failing to finish in Top 8 of the ODI Super League. But they have maintained an all-win record to seal the deal. As Sri Lanka will get Qualifier 2 spot in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Schedule. Thus, Dasun Shanaka & Co will begin their campaign against South Africa on October 7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The two other big matches will be against Pakistan on October 10 in Hyderabad and against India on November 2 at the Wankhede Stadium.

Having fought through the CWC qualifiers, Sri Lanka will have a big challenge at hand. In last 12 months, Sri Lanka have won only 9 games while losing 7. But those nine wins have come against weaker sides like Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Netherlands and Scotland. Sri Lanka have lost all matches against India and New Zealand.
As for their WC schedule, Sri Lanka will play in 6 venues across India. After Delhi, they travel to Hyderabad to face Pakistan. Following that, Dasun Shanaka & Co will take on Australia and Qualifier 1 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow before travelling to a batting-friendly M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
With batting being their weakest point, Sri Lanka will have to improve in that department a lot as Bengaluru and Mumbai both set to be good batting pitches. In Delhi, Lucknow and Pune, they will get slower surfaces where batting will be difficult.
