Jadeja was speaking after CSK defeated Delhi Capitals 27 runs and was named man of the match for his outstanding all-around performance. Jadeja chuckled and responded, “When I bat at 7, the crowd is disappointed and chants for Mahi bhai, imagine if I bat higher, they will just wait for me to get out.” Watch the video below. Follow Indian Premier League 2023 LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN

Jadeja stated he is willing to bat wherever the team needs him to, despite the challenge at hand. He emphasised that his first objective is helping Chennai win games and that he is ready to take on any position that would help the team succeed.

Coming to the match, Shivam Dube’s innings and the late blows from MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja enabled CSK rebound to a total of 167/8 in their 20 overs. The sluggish pitch caused CSK’s problems early on and appeared to have had a similar effect on Delhi Capitals. However, unlike CSK, DC never truly bounced back and ultimately lost the game by 27 runs.

Early losses included David Warner and Phil Salt, while Mitchell Marsh was bundled out following a mix-up with Manish Pandey. Pandey and the perilous Rilee Rossouw made an effort to create anything, but instead they created a lethargic partnership that dramatically increased the necessary rate for DC.

Rossouw was dismissed after hitting 35 off 37 while Pandey ultimately succumbed for 27 off 29 balls. Their partnership consumed 59 balls, but they only managed to score as many runs. DC were ultimately only able to score 140/8, staying at the bottom of the standings. Prior to it, CSK was stumbling at 77/4 in 11 overs on a pitch that became slower and slower.

Dhoni scored 20 runs in nine deliveries in a 38-run partnership with Jadeja that took just 18 balls. Prior to that, Dube hit 25 runs in 12 balls after the CSK top order had been encircled by Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Lalit Yadav. With only seven runs allowed and two wickets taken in his last over, Mitchell Marsh finished with statistics of 3/18.

The next game for CSK will take place on Sunday, May 14 at the Chepauk against Nitish Rana’s Kolkata Knight Riders.
