Not just performance, players must also be in good books of selectors and the BCCI with good conduct, this is how the team selection will be. As things stand, BCCI has put some IPL 2023 stars on notice for poor conduct. BCCI Selection Committee members have also put them on notice to improve conduct or miss out on IND vs WI T20 squad.
As per a Cricbuzz report, 4 players have been reported to the BCCI for poor conduct during IPL 2023. While the names of the players are still unknown, there have been debates over Sarfaraz Khan.

With some IPL performers eying India berth for the IND vs WI T20 series, selectors will take into account their conduct in IPL. As per a report, a franchise official from the north reported two players to the BCCI. The two unnamed players have had an excellent domestic season.
While it is the duty of Integrity Officers to report on players’ conduct, in this case, the franchise official took matters in his own hands. However, it was not related to corrupt practices, rather it was about the breach in curfew rule etc.
“When I became aware of the situation, I was deeply upset and immediately reported the matter to the BCCI. The Integrity Officer also took the breach very seriously and fulfilled his obligations,” a franchise owner told Cricbuzz.
