BCCI Prize Money: Ranji Trophy Prize Money – BCCI may not have increased the salary of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for over 5 years but domestic stars will benefit from the IPL Media Rights windfall. Ranji Trophy champions will now receive Rs 5 Crore from Rs 2 Cr while senior women’s ODI champions will receive Rs 50 lakh instead of Rs 6 lakh. “I’m pleased to announce an increase in prize money for all @BCCI Domestic Tournaments. We will continue our efforts to invest in Domestic Cricket – which is the backbone of Indian Cricket. Ranji winners to get 5 crores (from 2 cr), Sr Women winners 50 lacs (from 6 lacs),” BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a tweet on Sunday.
Across tournaments in men’s cricket, there has been a 150% hike in prize money. For example, Ranji runners-up will now receive Rs 3 Cr instead of 1 Cr. Vijay Hazare champions will get Rs 1 Crore instead Rs 30 lakh, which is a 300% hike. Similarly, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy winners will pocket Rs 80 lakh instead of Rs 25 lakh. BCCI has also introduced a prize money for losing semifinalists in Ranji Trophy. They will bag 1 Crore each.

But the significant rise is in women’s cricket. From a mere Rs 6 lakh, the prize money has been increased to Rs 50 lakh in women’s ODI Trophy. For T20 Trophy, winners will now bag Rs 40 lakh from 5 lakh.
Under Sourav Ganguly’s administration, BCCI made the first move in domestic cricket, increasing match free from 2021 onwards. Senior men now earn Rs 60,000 per day in Ranji Trophy and Rs 40,000 in white-ball cricket. Women cricketers pocket Rs 20,000 per day.
