India Playing XI vs Australian – IND vs AUS 3rd ODI LIVE – India have gone on with three spinners for the series decider in Chepauk. Rohit Sharma and Co were obliterated by the visitors and will eye a much better show in Chennai. Despite the manner of the defeat, the Men in Blue did not make too many changes in the playing XI. Suryakumar Yadav is likely to retain his place in the side, despite a dismal show in the first two games. Follow India vs Australia LIVE Updates on Insidesport. IN

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul(w), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj

With Chennai pitch assisting spinners a bit more than pacers, India have gone with Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav. Suryakumar Yadav’s spot in the playing XI was in spot of bother after twin first-ball ducks. However, skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid have backed the batter to come good in the final ODI.

What to expect in IND AUS 3rd ODI?

  • After two low-scoring thrillers, expect a high-scoring game at Chepauk.
  • The series is level at 1-1 after Australia clinched a 10-wicket in Vizag.
  • Despite the humbling defeat, India are expected to retain the same playing XI.
  • Spin is likely to be a factor and India will play Kuldeep – Ravindra Jadeja – Axar Patel
  • Washington Sundar could come in given his experience on this surface.
  • Umran Malik or Jaydev Unadkat could also get a look in with the World Cup on the horizon.
  • Suryakumar Yadav is set to continue despite two consecutive golden ducks to his name.

Insidesport

Suryakumar Yadav’s spot on the side is up for great debate. World No.1 in T20Is, Yadav has simply failed to come to terms with 50-over cricket, averaging a lowly 27 in 22 games. He has only 2 half-centuries and consecutive golden ducks in the series don’t augur well for him.

However, with Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson unavailable and Ishan Kishan solely considered an opener, Surya will feature in Chennai. It is likely to be his last chance to stake a claim for a spot in the 2023 World Cup team. The rest of the batting order remains the same, with Rohit partnering with Gill at the top. Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya make the middle order alongside Surya.

“We don’t know about (Shreyas) Iyer’s return. At this time there is a spot available so we have to play him (Suryakumar). He has obviously shown a lot of potential with white ball and I have said it many times before (that) guys with potential will be given some run,” Rohit told the media after India’s 10-wicket defeat to Australia in the second ODI.

Probable India Playing XI

  • Rohit Sharma
  • Shubman Gill
  • Virat Kohli
  • Suryakumar Yadav
  • Kl Rahul
  • Hardik Pandya
  • Ravindra Jadeja
  • Axar Patel /Washington Sundar
  • Mohammed Siraj
  • Mohammad Shami
  • Kuldeep Yadav

Insidesport

The surface at Chepauk is favourable for the spinners and India will continue their 3-spinner approach. Kuldeep Yadav is the lead spinner while Ravindra Jadeja takes the all rounder’s spot. Axar Patel featured in Vizag as is set to continue. Rohit however could be tempted to play Washington Sundar at his home ground.

Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj have bowled well and should continue to be in the team. However, Rohit could also opt to rest Shami, who has played continuously over the past couple of weeks. Shami played the Ahmedabad Test lasting 5 days before back-to-back ODIs. He could be rested for Umran Malik or Jaydev Unadkat.

India ODI Squad: Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan(w), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya(c), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Umran Malik, Jaydev Unadkat
