Nick Hockley has conveyed to the Cricket Australia board that he will vacate his chair in March 2025 and asked them to find another CEO

Cricket Australia’s CEO Nick Hockley has announced his resignation after being at the helm for five years. Hockley was named CA’s interim chief executive in 2020 before he went on to take over in permanent capacity in 2021. The CA chief admitted that it was time for the board to look for a new CEO and that he is focused on ensuring a smooth transition.

Hockley affirmed that he intended to be completely focused on the season ahead despite announcing his decision.

“This was a difficult decision, however following what promises to be a blockbuster summer and with our five-year strategic plan well progressed, this is the right time to pursue another challenge, while giving the Board plenty of time to find its next CEO to build on the strong foundations now in place,” Hockley said in a statement.
