Sourav Ganguly gives VERDICT on BCCI-CAB clash over World Cup Tickets

With BCCI & the ICC yet to release World Cup 2023 tickets, the Indian board is not happy with CAB for releasing ticket rates in advance.

All is not well between the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the BCCI. The latter is unhappy over the former’s announcement of the ticket prices for the ICC World Cup 2023 games at the Eden Gardens. As per The Telegraph, the country’s apex cricket body is miffed with the CAB for announcing the rates of the tickets without consulting them first. The World Cup will commence on October 5 and will conclude on November 19, with Kolkata hosting matches. But former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly does not align with the BCCI.

Here’s what Ganguly has to say

As per The Telegraph, former Indian skipper & BCCI President Sourav Ganguly visited Eden Garden and was present at the venue for over 2 hours on Monday. When asked about the BCCI-CAB matter, Ganguly responded, “This is totally the CAB’s jurisdiction. They’ll deal with it.”

Meanwhile, a senior CAB official told The Telegraph that Ganguly was on a visit to Eden Gardens to observe the ongoing renovation works, adding that a discussion was held on the upgradation of the stadium.

The CAB, however, is confident of sorting out the problems at the earliest, irrespective of whether the rates of the tickets for the World Cup games change or remain the same.

However, there is still no update on the tickets for the World Cup. While the tickets were expected to be out by July 1st week. BCCI and ICC are still working on the distribution process.
