It’s been the last ball galore in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 season so far. While fans might be ecstatic to see nerve-racking endings, for UP Warriorz captain Alyssa Healy, it was nothing but disappointment and a few learnings. The wicketkeeper claimed that they ‘created a lot of chances’ and kept themselves in the game but couldn’t hold on.
When asked about the 17th over, which was Sobhana Asha cleaning up Shweta Sehrawat, Grace Harris, and Kiran Navgire, and flipped the game on its head. Alyssa Healy said:
“Yeah, a little bit. We got ourselves back and then let ourselves down in the end. Full credit to Molineux for the way she bowled the last over and to Wareham for bowling the second last over. The differing levels of experience within each side are what we are learning each time. Getting down to the wire and getting past the line is something we can probably learn. Lots of positives to take out of today. We had our backs against the wall. We played a pretty good game of cricket. That is T20 cricket; sometimes you come away with a win, sometimes you don’t.“
