CPL 2021: St Kitts beat Guyana Warriors easy by 8-wickets: Dwayne Bravo led St Kitts defeated Guyana Warriors easily by eight wickets at Warner Park, Basseterre. Unlike Guyana Warriors who struggled with the bat during their innings, St Kitts batsmen showcased an easy performance with the willow. Their openers contribution was enough to sail them convincingly and attract the win. Devon Thomas was adjudged as the player of the match for his unbeaten 55 runs. 

Right from the start- St Kitts and Nevis Patriots opening pair Devon Thomas and Evin Lewis looked ferocious with the bat in their pursuit to chase the target of 147 runs put by Guyana Warriors on the board. They were off to a fantastic start and has a 113 run opening partnership before Lewis departed after a quickfire knock- 62 runs from 39 balls. The other opener Thomas, who was steady with the bat smashed 55 runs from 54 balls. 

With the ball, Mohammed Hafeez was economical who returned with an economy of 4.5. However, he didn’t get any scalps.

Guyana Amazon Warriors decision to bat after winning the toss seemed to have backfiredd as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. After a fine start from Chandrapaul Hemraj- 39 runs, the entire unit collapsed until skipper Nicholas Pooran (23 off 10) smashed the big hits to up the Warriors scoreboard.

With the ball, Dominic Drakes was exceptional as he scalped three wickets and returned with an economy of 6.5.
