The spotlight doesn’t seem to get off Australian opener David Warner, who is all set to retire from Tests, after the SCG Test against Pakistan. The start of the series has seen Warner in news for one reason or the other — first it was scathing comments by former teammate Mitchell Johnson, then it was his sudden ODI retirement, and now, his missing Baggy Green.
On Tuesday, the southpaw posted a message on social media, where he is asking for his Baggy Green to be returned. Not just that, even Pakistan skipper Shan Masood too swung into action, and made an emotional appeal. While speaking to the reporters, he said, “There should be a country-wide search right now from the Australian Government. We might need the best of detectives to get that back,” he said.
“He’s been a great ambassador, and he deserves every bit of respect, every bit of celebration for his unbelievable career. I hope they find it. It’s the most precious thing for any cricketer, and I hope David Warner gets it back.”
