Could not represent CSK: Dinesh Karthik reveals life’s biggest regret

IPL 2024: RCB batter Dinesh Karthik reveals his life's biggest regret of not being able to play for Chennai Super Kings

Dinesh Karthik now evolved in a new role in IPL 2024 has gone on to disclose his biggest regrets. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter has claimed that he has 2 regrets in life concerned with IPL. His first regret being not choosing to get retained by Mumbai Indians. And most importantly, not being able to play for Chennai Super Kings

Leaving MI after winning Title

Dinesh Karthik has played for quite a few different teams in his IPL career. But he had a brief stay with Mumbai Indians for two years, 2012 and 2013. He decided not to get retained and left MI after winning his maiden IPL title that season.

“I do not have too many regrets in life. I am not that kind of a person, but if I have two regrets in my cricketing career in terms of IPL, one would be the fact that I chose not to get retained because I thought MI was a team that could have really helped me grow and become an even better player,” Dinesh Karthik said

Could not represent CSK

Another huge regret for Dinesh Karthik is unable to play for the Chennai Super Kings. Hailing from Chennai, he played a lot of cricket in the city. But unfortunately, he has never been able to play for the coveted Yellow Army. However, Karthik claims that he has a huge respect for the team as they have often tried hard in getting him in the IPL Auctions.

“And two would be the fact that, obviously, I could not represent CSK so far. But that I understand, though it is a regret because I could not play. I mean, coming from Chennai, I played all my cricket there, and I would have loved to be part of the yellow jersey, but I always respect them because they genuinely try every year to try and get me in the auction,” Karthik concluded.
