Contract Breach? BCCI not happy with Virat Kohli making ‘confidential matter’ public

A six-day conditioning program was started by the Indian team management on Thursday.

Soon after, Virat Kohli shared the results of his yo-yo test on social media, the Indian team management ordered its players to “avoid” making their fitness test results public. It is understood that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) executives, who didn’t like their star player disclosing what they deemed to be confidential information, sent the message.

According to The Indian Express, all players participating in the Asia Cup 2023 preparatory camp in Alur near Bangalore have been informed “verbally” of the board’s position.

Virat Kohli had earlier on Thursday wrote on Instagram, “The happiness of finishing the Yo Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done.”

The board members, however, weren’t amused by the Virat Kohli post.

BCCI Contract Breach by Virat Kohli?

A six-day conditioning program was started by the Indian team management on Thursday.

On the first day, players had a yo-yo test to determine their level of fitness. Virat Kohli then took to Instagram to post his score.

“Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause,” a BCCI official stated.

However, because Indian cricketers are playing non-stop cricket, the final score can change. Players have been required by the team management to at the very least follow the chosen fitness standards.

Players who completed a 13-day fitness program will get a full body exam, including a blood test, prior to the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka. The BCCI does not want to take a chance with the World Cup 2023 right around the corner, so trainers will examine their physical fitness, and any who don’t satisfy requirements will be pulled up.
