Talk about giving a befitting reply to the IPL teams. Young Ayush Mhatre was left unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. But now the young Indian opener has gone on to showcase his worth. The youngster has struck yet another fifty, this time against UAE in the ongoing U19 Asia Cup.
The young opener notched up 67 runs from 51 deliveries as he and Vaibhav Suryavanshi helped India secure a commanding 10-wicket win over UAE.
Ayush Mhatre gives befitting reply to IPL Auction snub
The 17-year-old opener has been a revelation off late. His explosive batting prowess helped him secure his name in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction list. But none of the teams were eager to spill their cash on the youngsters. And now when the time has arrived, Ayush Mhatre has stood strong.
In the previous game against Japan, the young opener yet again showed remarkable class by hammering yet another fifty, thus making it consecutive fifties in the tournament.
Now the IPL teams will be at a loss after missing out on getting a talented batter amongst their mixes. As things stand, any team in the IPL, now cash in on the youngster before the IPL starts. But there is a catch, no team is allowed to buy the player. He can only join a team as a replacement player.
