Confusion Galore: Why India play a second Super Over in IND vs AFG 3rd T20I?

IND vs AFG: Confusion galore as IND vs AFG 3rd T20I went into back to back super overs

The IND vs AFG 3rd T20I has been entertaining and confusing to say the very least. Match drawn, it goes to Super Over, which gets tied again and then it reaches to a second super over. However, the biggest confusion took place when the first super over got tied and Afghanistan complained to the umpires about not allowing Rohit Sharma to bat again.

However, using the presence of his mind, Rohit retired himself out as Rinku Singh rushed into the field to run the last 2 runs. But with Yashasvi taking the a single run, the game went to the 2nd Super Over. As per the rules, the super overs are supposed to continue till a winner is decided.

Interestingly, Rohit Sharma came out to bat again. The Afghans protested since Rohit retired himself out in the previous super over. But as per the laws of the game, Rohit was allowed to bat again. Since Rohit was not dismissed he was allowed to continue to bat.

Rohit then went on to hit a six and four as India managed to score 11 runs. Finally Ravi Bishnoi scalped 2 wickets in 3 balls in the 2nd super over to finally win the tie for India.
