India cricket team batter Virat Kohli’s name has been excluded from Delhi’s squad for the two Ranji Trophy second leg matches. The former Indian skipper decided to pull out of the tournament after initially being named in the squad. The second leg of the domestic red-ball tournament, which will see the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill among other stars participate, will commence on January 23.
No Virat Kohli in Delhi’s Ranji Trophy squad
Kohli had informed the BCCI that he would not be participating in the Ranji Trophy second leg matches due to a neck strain. The batter suffered the injury during the IND vs AUS 5th Test in Sydney. As per reports, he had even taken injections to address the issue but could not get any relief. He has hence been left out of the squad that was announced by the DDCA on Saturday.

Ayush Badoni will continue to lead the side while Rishabh Pant makes his return to Ranji Trophy after 8 years. Delhi will take on Saurashtra in their first game of the second leg on Jan 23.
