Comedy of Errors: New Zealand greats listed as Australian Hall of Famers on ICC website

New Zealand has only three inductees in the prestigious ICC list, while Zimbabwe, 1, has fewer members in the Hall of Fame.

In a major goof-up, New Zealand cricket greats like Richard Hadlee, Debbie Hockley, and the late Martin Crowe. have been listed as Australian players on the ICC Hall of Fame website, as per a report in RNZ. These names appear next to the Aussie flag, which has stoked a bit of controversy.

While Hadlee was part of the initial list of inductees in 2009, Hockley was included in 2014, and Martin Crowe the following year. Meanwhile, one of the greatest all-rounders the world has ever seen, Hadlee said he wasn’t aware of anything like this.

NZ & ICC

“We come from New Zealand, I just hope somebody can correct it, so that’s all I’d say on the matter,” he told RNZ. “I’m too old to get involved in these sorts of things. People know that Martin, and Debbie, and myself are all from New Zealand so it’s not an issue for me.”

The report further suggested this wasn’t the only issue on the website. On a drop-down menu, it mentions the eight Test nations, instead of nine, excluding New Zealand.

Out of the 112 overall inductees, only three are Kiwis, while Zimbabwe has one. England has the most, 32 inductees, in the list.
