CM of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi announced as the new PCB Chairman replacing Zaka Ashraf

Mohsin Naqvi has been elected unopposed by ten BoG members for three years

Mohsin Naqvi, currently serving as the Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, has been elected unopposed as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee. Ten members of the board of governors at the National Cricket Academy Lahore backed Naqvi’s leadership, confirming his position for the next three years. Naqvi will replace Zaka Ashraf who was forced to resign due to lack of authority.

Naqvi’s nomination was proposed by the Patron PCB, caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar, alongside Mustafa Ramdey, for the Board of Governors established under the 2014 constitution. The board’s composition reflects representation from diverse regions and departments, including Azad Jammu Kamshir, Larkana, Dera Murad Jamali, Bahawalpur, PTV, State Bank, Sui Gas, and Ghani Glass.

While the secretary of inter-provincial coordination sits on the board of governors, they do not possess voting privileges. Chief Election Commissioner Shah Khawar officially declared Naqvi’s victory.
