Former Australian captain Steve Waugh has hailed West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph after West Indies scripted a historic win in the AUS vs WI 2nd Test. Joseph emerged as the hero for the Caribbean side in Gabba, breaking the backbone of Australia with a 7-fer in the fourth innings.

Shamar Joseph, in spite of having a broken toe, took the attack to the opposition after the West Indies gave Australia a target of 215 to chase at the Gabba. In spite of a valiant effort from opener Steve Smith (91 not out), Australia fell short by 8 runs in a thrilling encounter. Joseph cleaned up the lower order of Australia, taking the most of the wickets of Australia’s last seven batters in addition to dismissing Cameron Green and dangerous-looking Travis Head.
