Chepauk Overheats as SRH and CSK Fans Engage in ‘Silent’ Battle

After witnessing CSK's easy win over SRH, the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai experienced something interesting as both Southern Derbies fans got indulged in a 'silent' fight. Just like a fire in the jungle, the battle is now going viral on social media between both teams' supporters

In the recently concluded match between the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai. CSK defeated SRH by a margin of 78 runs. Apart from Gaikwad’s impressive knock of 98 runs and Pathirana’s four-wicket haul, there is one more thing that came into the spotlight, and that is the “silent battle.”

The M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk witnessed an interesting banter between both southern derby fans. On one hand, CSK, who thoroughly dominated this match in Chepauk, had their fans shown doing silent actions on camera, as they were responding to the Hyderabad franchise, asserting, “We are the kings of this jungle.” The subtle banter became more interesting when MS Dhoni was also shown doing similar actions while heading to the pavilion.

Social media fans of both teams are not behind, as they are sharing things on their respective social platforms. Let’s have a look at a few reactions that are enough to light up your mood.

What next for southern derbies

Both SRH and CSK are in comfortable positions to date. On one hand, CSK, after spending a few days at 6th position, which they are not used to, have again come under the top 4. They are comfortably seated at No. 3 with 5 wins in 9 games. Whereas SRH, who came with a lethal squad this time, has faced 2 consecutive losses and slipped to 4th. SRH needs to step up, otherwise, all their hard work will be in vain.

Looking at the IPL points table and how fickle it could be. It is important for the SRH to win their remaining matches or at least 3 out of the 5 matches which are still left. Where they would feel safe to enter the IPL playoffs 2024.
