All eyes are set on the upcoming India vs Ireland T20 series after underdogs West Indies defeated India in the 5-match T20 series on August 13. The 3-match IND vs IRE series will mark the return of Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
However, after a humiliating loss in the Caribbean, Team India would not like to take any chances against the Irish side, who have some up-and-coming talents in Lorcan Tucket, Curtis Campher, Harry Tector, and Joshua Little. So, let’s check the Ireland cricket team record in T20s:
Ireland Cricket Team record in T20s
Ireland have played a total of 152 T20I matches since 2008. The Men in Green have won 65 of these matches, with one match tied and seven games ending in no result.

Ireland Cricket Team record in T20s vs India
Ireland has played five matches against India, with the Men in Blue emerging victorious in every encounter.
The first time the two sides faced each other was at the T20 World Cup in 2009. The Irish side could not put up a great fight against a strong Indian team and lost by eight wickets.
Their 2-match T20I series was not much different either, as India convincingly beat them by 76 and 143 runs, respectively.
Their last match, however, proved to be a challenging one for the Men in Blue. India put up a mammoth score of 225, but the Irish weren’t deterred. The hosts showed great character but eventually fell just four runs short of a historic victory.
Ireland T20 record at home
Ireland has a poor record when playing at home. In the 43 matches they have played at home, they have won just 13, and 3 games have ended in no result.
Their last series, however, saw them win 3-2 over Afghanistan. They are also 4-0 against India at home.
