Cricket lovers took to social media to hail Ashutosh Sharma's innings and slam Chandrakant Pandit, who left him out of the Madhya Pradesh team after taking charge of the Ranji team.

Punjab Kings batter Ashutosh Sharma played the innings of his life when he took on the Mumbai Indians at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium on Thursday. Chasing a target of 193, Ashutosh almost single-handedly brought the match within PBKS’s reach. He got out on the 18th over of the match, scoring 61 runs from 28 balls. His innings was loved by cricket lovers, who took to social media to express their admiration.

Ashutosh Sharma has been impressing in the PBKS outfit since making his debut in IPL 2024. He took the initiative on Thursday after Punjab Kings lost quite a few wickets in their chase. Ashutosh took the attack from the opposition from the very beginning, hitting the MI bowlers all around the park to help PBKS go close to the target. He hit some wonderful shots on his way to the 61-run innings, including two boundaries and seven over-boundaries.

However, he fell in the 18th over trying to pull a short ball from Gerald Coetzee. However, his innings pulled Punjab Kings from the cusp of a sure loss and gave them some hope, although PBKS lost by 9 runs.
