Champions Trophy: Pakistan reinforce security, post elite snipers on rooftops to provide maximum security

Maximum security of more than 5000 personnel have been posted in Rawalpindi

Huge security arrangements have been made in Rawalpindi as teams continue their practice sessions for the ICC Champions Trophy. The Pakistan Army along with the Rangers and other security agencies have joined forces to provide maximum security for the teams and the players. Expert snipers too have been placed on rooftops to deal with the adequate threats.

Reports from Pakistan claim that more than 5000 officers and personnel have been deployed to provide security and traffic arrangements. On the other hand, more than 350 Traffic Police too have been arranged to direct the Traffic in the city. More so, elite snipers too have been posted on rooftops along the routes to the stadium.

Apart from these arrangements, different forces like Dolphine Force, and Elite Force too have been deployed across the city for patrolling duty. Special focus has also been given to the entry and exit points of stadiums and training grounds so that the teams and the players are not exposed to any kind of threats.

Coming to the tournament, the hosts, i.e. the Pakistan Cricket Team are on the verge of being eliminated from the tournament. The Men in Green lost their opening match to New Zealand. On Sunday, they were handed a humiliating 6-wicket loss at the hands of arch-rivals India in Dubai.
