Champions Trophy 2025: Venue, Teams, Date & all you need to know

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Pakistan, and whether India will participate in the tournament is still uncertain. We are hoping to get answers to these questions during the upcoming ICC meeting.

The ninth edition of the Champions Trophy is expected to be held in Pakistan, scheduled between February and March 2025. However, India has yet to confirm its participation in the tournament. During the ICC meeting on November 29, discussions are likely to address whether a hybrid model, similar to the one used during the Asia Cup 2023, will be adopted for the event. A final decision on the matter may emerge from this meeting.

Champions Trophy 2025 Format

In the group stage, each team will compete against every other team in their group in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-final matches will determine the finalists, who will then compete for the championship in the grand final.

In the previous edition, the tournament was held in a one-day format. The upcoming edition is also anticipated to be in the ODI format.

Champions Trophy 2025 schedule

The PCB has proposed a schedule for the upcoming event, with 15 matches to be played over 20 days, starting from February 19 to March 9. The India vs Pakistan match is proposed to be held on March 1st.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Venue

The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan, with venues in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. However, due to political unrest, India is unlikely to travel to Pakistan. As a solution, the ICC could introduce a hybrid model similar to the Asia Cup, where India’s matches would take place in another country.

Lahore is set to host seven matches, including the final. Karachi’s National Stadium will host the opening match and one of the semi-finals, totaling three matches. Rawalpindi will host five matches, including the other semi-final.
