Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja missed out on a well deserved century after third umpire gave benefit of doubt to the bowler on Day 3 of IND vs ENG 1st Test at Hyderabad on Saturday.
Jadeja, who resumed on 81 on Day 3, started cautiously against Mark Wood and Jack Leach. The all-rounder could only add 6 more runs to his overnight score before Joe Root trapped him in front.
Jadeja went for the DRS straightaway. The replay showed a spike when ball went past the bat but the third umpire wasn’t sure the ball hit the bat first as bat and pad were adjacent.

With no conclusive evidence, the third umpire went with the on-field umpire’s call and the ball tracking showed umpire’s call, which upheld the on-field decision of out.
