Century robbery! Umpire steals Ravindra Jadeja’s show with controversial reprieve for Joe Root

Ravindra Jadeja could only add 6 more runs to his overnight score before Joe Root trapped him in front.

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja missed out on a well deserved century after third umpire gave benefit of doubt to the bowler on Day 3 of IND vs ENG 1st Test at Hyderabad on Saturday.

Jadeja, who resumed on 81 on Day 3, started cautiously against Mark Wood and Jack Leach. The all-rounder could only add 6 more runs to his overnight score before Joe Root trapped him in front.

Jadeja went for the DRS straightaway. The replay showed a spike when ball went past the bat but the third umpire wasn’t sure the ball hit the bat first as bat and pad were adjacent.
