Ishan Kishan will remember March 23 for a long, long time. Not only he scored 100 from just 45 deliveries — his maiden ton in IPL, but also took his team to a massive 286/6 in 20 overs. But then just about when it was looking, it would be his season, Ishan suffered an untimely injury while fielding.
Ishan Kishan Suffers Big Blow
While not much is known about the nature of the injury, but the untoward incident happened during the dying moments of the match, when in an attempt to save a boundary, Ishan Kishan twisted his knee. Post that, for the last couple of overs, he stayed out at the boundary line, getting medical treatment, and then went off limping. Meanwhile, SRH play their next match vs LSG on March 27, and it needs to be seen if he will play that match or not.
SRH Brilliant Against RR
Ishan went not out in his innings of 106, that set the platform for Sunrisers Hyderabad to register a 44-run win, and give them an excellent start in IPL 2025. Throughout his innings, he struck at 225, and slammed 11 fours and 6 sixes. He was ably supported by Travis Head (67 from 31), followed by Nitish Reddy (30 from 15), and Heinrich Klassen (34 from 14).
Sanju Samson & Dhruv Jurel Impress
Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Royals’ stand-in skipper made the wrong choice of bowling first. All his bowlers leaked runs consistently, especially Jofra Archer, who came up with the most expensive spell in IPL. Come the chase, there were fifties from the bat of Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel, but that was not enough on the day.
On the other hand, there were impressive performances from SRH bowlers. Harshal Patel came up with figures of 2/34 in his four overs, while Simarjeet Singh delivered a performance of 2/46 in his three overs.
