The 10th edition of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) is set to kick off tomorrow evening at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The opening match will witness the Mumbai Heroes facing off against the Kerala Strikers at 7 PM in Sharjah.
Similar to the previous season, CCL 2024 will feature each team playing four round-robin matches, with the top four advancing to the playoffs instead of the knockout stage seen in the previous edition. All matches will be played in the T20 format, comprising two innings of 10 overs each per side.
The matches will be hosted in five cities: Sharjah, Hyderabad, Vizag, Trivandrum, and Chandigarh, with the final scheduled to take place in Vizag on March 17.
Eight teams, Bengal Tigers, Bhojpuri Dabanggs, Chennai Rhinos, Karnataka Bulldozers, Kerala Strikers, Mumbai Heroes, Punjab De Sher, and Telugu Warriors, will compete in the CCL 2024. Matches scheduled for the afternoon will commence at 2 PM IST, while the evening fixtures will begin at7 PM IST.

Renowned celebrities like Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Arya, Jisshu Sengupta, Sudeep Kiccha, Manikuttan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Shabir Ahluwalia, Suniel Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani, Sohail Khan, Jay Bhanushali, Saqib Saleem, Sonu Sood, Jimmy Shergil, and Jassie Gill will participate in the tournament.
Throughout the nine editions of CCL held so far, Southern teams have dominated, securing the title eight times. The Telugu Warriors have emerged victorious on four occasions, while the Chennai Rhinos and Karnataka Bulldozers have each clinched the championship twice.
The only exception was in 2019 when the Mumbai Heroes defeated the Karnataka Bulldozers to claim the title. Demonstrating the Southern teams’ dominance, the Kerala Strikers finished as runners-up twice in these finals.
How to watch CCL 2024 in India?
In India, Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony Sports Ten 5 HD will broadcast the matches live, with free live streaming available on the JioCinema website and application. The first 11 matches of the tournament will also be aired live on Doordarshan in Hindi commentary, while the remaining nine games will be broadcast live on DD Sports. The games will also be live-streamed on Jio Cinema.
Additionally, regional channels like Star Vijay Super, Maa Movies, Asianet Movies, Suvarna Plus, and PTC Punjabi will provide regional commentary when teams from their respective regions play in CCL 2024.
