CCL 2023 LIVE: Celebrity Cricket League – Actor Mohanlal and the Association of Malayalam Cinema Artistes (AMMA), who were the main organisers of the Kerala Strikers team have reportedly withdrawn from the Celebrity Cricket League 2023. Mohanlal further requested that the promoter stop using his name or images in any future promotions for Kerala Strikers or the CCL. The team is currently managed by Rajkumar Sethupathy, wife Sripriya, and Shaji Jaison, replacing Idavela Babu, who managed Kerala Strikers throughout the previous few competitions. The Kerala Strikers’ non-playing captain Mohanlal was conspicuously absent from the team’s last two matches, despite the Celebrity Cricket League’s organisers advertising him as such. The most recent game was played in Jaipur, which is just over 10 hours away from Jaisalmer, where the actor is now filming Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Vaaliban.
Idavela Babu had also made it clear that Mohanlal had asked the organiser to stop using his name or pictures in any future advertisements for Kerala Strikers or CCL. While AMMA withdrew from the Celebrity Cricket League, Mohanlal continued to own a “small stake of the team,” according to Babu.

Kerala Strikers’ Unni Mukundan served as captain for their games against Telugu Strikers and Karnataka Bulldozers even though Kunchacko Boban is the team’s official captain. Kerala Strikers are now last in the standings after losing both of their games. On March 5, at Thiruvananthapuram Greenfield International Stadium, Kerala Strikers will play Mumbai Heroes led by Ritiesh Deshmukh. The home team will be looking to earn their win of the tournament.
