India cricket team star Rinku Singh was awarded the fielder of the series medal for his heroics on field in the 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The young star was presented the medal by stand-in coach VVS Laxman after India victoriously signed off the series with an emphatic win in the 5th T20I.
Fielding coach for the series Subhadeep Ghosh stressed on the importance of taking catches and how Rinku excelled in it every time he stepped out on the field in Harare.

Before presenting the medal to Rinku, Ghosh played out a video message from the man who started the trend of the fielding medal ceremony – T Dilip. Noting that India had set high standards in terms of fielding over the last few years, Dilip emphasised on the need to strive for excellence in the area.
Rinku Singh received the award with his typical response ‘ God’s plan – and admitted that he loved fielding more than batting.
India end ZIM series with 4-star finish
Despite going 0-1 down in the first match, Team India bounced back to win four matches on the trot. In the 5th T20, Sanju Samson and Mukesh Kumar starred to thrash the hosts by 42 runs. India bowled Zimbabwe out for 125 with Mukesh bagging career-best T20I figures of 4/22.
Earlier, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube helped India set a 168-run target for Zimbabwe in the dead-rubber 5th T20I. Samson scored 45-ball 58 while Dube hit 12-ball 26 after India lost Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the powerplay.
