Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is in red-hot form in the ongoing Asia Cup. The senior batter has stroked back-to-back fifties against Sri Lanka and Pakistan as the Men in Blue have easily qualified for the final match of the marquee event. Rohit is on 4th spot for most runs in Asia Cup history
At present, Rohit is on the fourth spot for most runs in the Asia Cup history. He is behind the likes of Sanath Jayasuriya (1,220), Kumar Sangakkara (1075) and India maestro Sachin Tendulkar (971). The current Indian skipper has amassed 939 runs and can atleast reach the second spot with India having two matches left in the ongoing event.
The Indian opener did not had a great start to the competition as he was dismissed by Shaheen Afridi. However, he completed a fine half-century against Nepal. Facing Pakistan in their Super 4s clash, the senior batter scored a quickfire fifty before backing it with another one against the defending champs Sri Lanka.
Team India is set to take on Bangladesh in their next match of the Asia Cup. With the kind of form Rohit is in, he will be backing himself to get a big one against a meek looking Bangladeshi line-up. Earlier, Rohit scripted his name in the record books as he reached the milestone of 10,000 ODI runs. The Hitman is also the second fastest batter after Virat Kohli to enter the 10K club. Kohli did it in 205 innings while Rohit has achieved the feat in 241 innings.
