Team India’s chances of qualifying for the upcoming WTC final suffered a massive dent after losing the third Test at the Wankhede Stadium by 25 runs, receiving a 0-3 home series whitewash for the first time at the hands of New Zealand on Sunday (November 3).
New Zealand’s 3-0 series win meant India’s WTC points percentage (PCT) dipped from above 74 percent to 58.33 percent within the series. As a result, they have now come down to the second spot in the table, with Australia taking the top spot. Let us check out the updated WTC points table below.

WTC final 2025 scenario for India
To qualify without depending on others, India cannot afford another defeat in their remaining five matches. Moreover, India can only afford a maximum of one draw and win four games to finish on a PCT of 67.54. With five outright wins, Rohit and Co. can accumulate 158 points at a commanding 69.29 PCT. That would require India to pull off a stunning 5-0 coup Down Under against the defending WTC champions.
