Cameron Green Catch: Shubman Gill’s controversial dismissal in the 4th and final inning of the WTC Final has caused a stir among Indian fans. Gill, who was batting as well as he ever has, was adjudged out by the third umpire after Cameron Green took what looked like a one-handed screamer off the bowling of Scott Boland. Green, who was stationed at Gully, leaped to his left and caught the ball a few inches above the ground; however, the replay showed the ball had contact with the ground.
The third umpire checked the catch from a few different angles but still adjudged Gill out. This decision was criticized by fans and former cricketers online and was a talking point among former greats like Ricky Ponting, Ravi Shastri, and Justin Langer, who were in the booth while the decision was taken.
