‘Butterfingers’ Indian fans fume as Men in Blue drop three catches vs Nepal

India won the toss against Nepal and opted to have a field first. Meanwhile, the Indian fielders dropped three crucial catches.

Team India is taking on Nepal in their second group stage match of the Asia Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to have a bowl first in Pallekele. Meanwhile, the Indian fielding was poor as they dropped three catches within the starting ten overs of the game. The culprits were Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan. The fans on social media expressed their anguish as the Men in Blue were quite sloppy in the field.

Iyer was the first culprit after dropping a regulation catch in slips

Iyer was the first one to drop a catch reprieving Bhurtel in the first slip. Aasif was dropped off the very next ball off Mohammed Siraj this time as Virat Kohli fluffed a simple catch at the covers. Ishan Kishan was the next culprit as Bhurtel was strangled down the leg-side only for the India wicketkeeper to drop an easy catch.

Meanwhile, India has knocked out Nepal for just 230 runs, The Nepali batters could not complete their allotted 50 overs as Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Shami bowled exceptionally well in the death overs. Hardik Pandya was also brilliant during his 8 overs spell. The Men in Blue now require 231 runs to qualify for the next stage of the Asia Cup.
