Burdened by Captaincy? Ruturaj Gaikwad fails to score big runs for CSK in IPL 2024 again

SRH vs CSK: Burden of Captaincy troubling Ruturaj Gaikwad? CSK skipper yet again fails to pile up a big score

Is the captaincy pressure building on Ruturaj Gaikwad? The new Chennai Super Kings skipper hasn’t been unable to be free flowing with his bat. In the SRH vs CSK clash, Gaikwad had to walk back meekly after scoring a 21-ball 26 run knock in Hyderabad. His highest score in IPL 2024 was against Gujarat Titans where he managed to score 46 runs.

15, 46, 1, 26 are the scores made by Ruturaj Gaikwad in IPL 2024. The right handed opener has failed to find his glorious touch. Perhaps the burden of captaincy is hampering his free flowing run form.

Ruturaj Gaikwad Falters Again!

Just ahead of the start of IPL 2024, MS Dhoni decided to step down as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings. The pressure of leading the side fell on the shoulders of Ruturaj Gaikwad. The destructive opener has been a shadow of his previous self. Gaikwad has so far managed score decent scores of 46 and 26 but conversely he has also eaten up a lot of balls.

CSK has won 2 out of their 3 games. Despite Gaikwad not going full throttle, the all-rounder performance by the entire team has been instrumental in the team clinching 2 wins. However, Gaikwad will now be keen to regain his form back with a bang.
