All eyes will now be on Jasprit Bumrah during the first India vs Ireland T20I as the pacer will be making a comeback after 10 months, but for that to materialize rain Gods need to relent in Dublin. While Team India did have a practice session without rain delays, the forecast for the same on August 18 does not look pleasing.
If the match is a washout, it will be a major body blow for the likes of Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna, who are desperate to prove match fitness ahead of Asia Cup and World Cup 2023.
Apart from these two speedsters, the focus will also be on Ruturaj Gaikwad (captain of Asian Games), Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, & Yashasvi Jaiswal as these players are part of Asian Games squad, that will be played from September 19 to October 8.

India vs Ireland: More than 90% chances of rain as Bumrah comeback looks grim
According to Accuweather, there are 92% chances of rain during the day and 98% of chances during the night. There are chances that the match might be shortened, with the possibility of only five over game. This news comes as a dampener to fans, who were desperate to see Bumrah back in action, more so when they watched a clip of him dismantling Jaiswal with a pinpoint yorker. The pacer himself is optimistic about making a comeback with a bang and ready to contribute to the team’s success.
“I’m coming back after a long time, I just want to enjoy. I’ve never stayed away from the game from this long. I’m not thinking ‘I’ll do this, I’ll do that,’ or ‘I have to contribute a lot.’ I have come here to enjoy it because I like cricket. Expectations, I’m not keeping too much of it,” Bumrah said ahead of the first T20I.
