Brothers Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan turned the clock back to lead India to a mammoth total against Australia Champions in the semi-final of the World Championship of Legends 2024. While Yusuf smashed a 23-ball 51-run knock, his brother Irfan Pathan smothered a half-century off just 19 deliveries as the brothers unleashed a furious assault on the opposition to amass a huge total. India Champions finished with 254 runs on board at the end of 20 overs.

Irfan, Yusuf Pathan torment Australia

Yusuf’s knock was studded with four sixes and fours each while his brother Irfan went berserk on his arrival to the crease. The latter took the bowlers to the cleaners, striking five sixes and four boundaries at a mind-boggling strike rate of 263.16.

Robin Uthappa set the stage up for the Pathan brothers to go all guns blazing, scoring a 65-run knock at the opening position. While Rayudu and Raina failed to fire, India’s evergreen T20 star Yuvraj Singh proved why he still was the best in the business with a blazing 59-run knock off just 28 deliveries studded with five sixes and four boundaries.

Peter Siddle was the pick of the bowlers for the Australia Champions, as he bagged four scalps. Australia now face a steep task as they chase a target of 255 runs, something that is near to impossible for the opposition to chase. The winner of this clash will face either of Pakistan Champions or the West Indies Champions in the ultimate tie on Saturday, July 13.
