Former Australian star Brad Hogg has hit back at the umpires for suspending Tom Curran for four Big Bash League matches. The England pacer had an altercation with the umpire as he was running on the pitch during warm-up of Sydney Sixers vs Hobart Hurricanes BBL match.
Instead of abandoning his warm-up, Tom Curran ran towards the umpire. However, Brad Hogg has defended Tom Curran, saying it was the umpire who should not have stood their and rather should have de-escalated the situation.
“Not Tom’s brightest moment but the umpires at fault to, rather than walking closer to Tom in a non confrontational manner with a smile to de-escalate the situation he stood in an intimidating manner seeming looking for confrontation,” Brad Hogg said in a tweet.
