‘Brace for Best Finishes’ Star Sports drops fiery Teaser ahead of World Cup 2023

India will solely host World Cup 2023 for the first time this year after, having previously co-hosted it in 1987, 1996, and 2011.

India’s eagerly awaited ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is all set to enthral fans with its grandeur and gripping encounters across the 10 designated venues. Spanning a remarkable 46 days, this mega event promises to be a spectacle of epic proportions. The action-packed journey commences on October 5 with a riveting clash between England and New Zealand. Meanwhile, the official broadcaster for the tournament, Star Sports dropped a fiery teaser on their social media handles.

A total of 10 teams will participate in the marquee event

As the host nation, India embarks on their quest for glory on October 8, engaging in a captivating battle against the formidable five-time World Cup champions, Australia, in the vibrant city of Chennai. The tournament will witness the participation of 10 exceptional teams.

Each team plays the other nine in a round robin format with the top four qualifying for the knockout stage and semi-finals. Hosts India who have not won any ICC trophy since 2013 will have a golden opportunity to win the prized trophy in front of their home crowd.

Meanwhile, team India is currently in Alur and will soon depart for Sri Lanka to take on the arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match of the Asia Cup 2023. The clash will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on September 2. The Men in Blue are slated to take on Nepal in their second match of the tournament on September 4 at the same venue.
