Pakistani batter Ahmed Shehzad has slammed a fine fifty for Fortune Barisal on his second match in the Bangladesh Premier League. Shehzad was roped in the by the Barisal franchise as a replacement for Shoaib Malik. Shehzad slammed 39 in the previous game but ended up losing the tie to Chattogram Challengers by 10 runs.
But the Pakistani batter unleashed his carnage against Sylhet Strikers. Shehzad slammed a fine fifty from just 30 deliveries.
The responsibility of leading the charge fell on Shehzad’s shoulders after skipper Tamin Iqbal departed cheaply. Batting with a strike rate of 161, the Pakistani batter hammered 9 fours and 2 sixes to slam 66 from 41 runs. He helped his side amass a big total of 186 runs.
Shehzad has been brought on a replacement for Pakistan stalwart Shoaib Malik. Fortune Barisal terminated Malik’s contract after he found himself in the middle of a controversy. Malik bowled 3 no balls in an over which caused a mega uproar.
“I would like to address and dismiss the recent rumors circulating about my playing position with Fortune Barishal. I had a thorough discussion with our captain, Tamim Iqbal, and we mutually planned the way forward. I had to leave Bangladesh for a pre-committed media engagement in Dubai,” Malik said in a statement.
